OUR BELIEFS
We believe the Bible is God’s written revelation to humanity, inspired by God and fully trustworthy in every word. Scripture is without error in the original manuscripts and is the final authority for faith, belief, and daily living. Our doctrinal beliefs are grounded in and guided by The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
THE BIBLE
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction, with God as its author, salvation as its purpose, and truth—without error—as its content. It reveals God’s standards for judgment and is the supreme authority for human conduct, beliefs, and opinions. Jesus Christ is the key to understanding Scripture.
GOD
There is one living and true God—intelligent, spiritual, and personal—the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He is infinite in holiness and perfection and worthy of our highest love, reverence, and obedience. God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinct in person, yet one in nature and essence.
JESUS
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He fully revealed God and lived a sinless human life. Through His obedience and death on the cross, He provided redemption from sin. Raised bodily from the dead, He ascended to heaven and now reigns at God’s right hand as the one Mediator between God and humanity. He will return in power and glory and now lives in believers as their ever-present Lord.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who inspired the Scriptures and illuminates truth. He exalts Christ, convicts of sin, calls sinners to salvation, and brings new life. He develops Christian character, comforts believers, gives spiritual gifts, and seals believers until final redemption. His presence empowers both the believer and the church for worship, service, and evangelism.
MAN
We believe God created people in His own image and designed them to live in relationship with Him. Humanity was originally created without sin, but through disobedience, sin entered the world and affected all people. As a result, everyone is born with a sinful nature and is separated from God. Only through God’s grace, made available through Jesus Christ, can people be restored to fellowship with Him. Every person has value and worth because they are created by God and redeemed by Christ.
SALVATION
Salvation is God’s free gift to all who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through God’s grace, believers are made new, declared right with God, and grow to live more like Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Salvation will one day be fully completed when believers are eternally restored to God.
BAPTISM
Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience that symbolizes new life in Christ and identifies the believer with His death, burial, and resurrection.
THE LORD’S SUPPER (Communion)
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience in which believers remember Christ’s death through the bread and the cup and look forward to His return.
